yes, you can do it by using the Remote desktop application
in XP. If you go to start, programs, accessories,
communications, then Remote Desktop you can connect. put
in the IP address of the remote computer.
You have to set up the Win2k computer to be able to be
remotely controlled. if you right click my computer and
go into properties, on the last tab there is a check box
allowing you to remotely connect to that computer.
You also have to have a user name that has a password and
is part or the remote users group which you have to set
up. In the "Users" properties window make the user, you
want to use, part of the "remote user" group. When you
log on you have to use that user name.
If you are trying to connect to that computer through a
router you have to forward(open) port 3389 and put in the
IP address of the PC you want to connect to(in your case
the Win2k machine).
