open relay is closed but yet i'm being used to relay spam

I hope it's not this in your case, but it's worth mentioning anyway:

One of the newsletters I receive regularly warned recently of a new attack
on Exchange servers. The bad guys bombard the server with SMTP AUTH
requests trying to crack Administrator password. Once armed with that, they
can obviously pretty much do as they please.

Suggest 16+ character complex password (e.g. My#1stCmplx*Pswd) for
Administrator account.

Also, have you checked message tracker?

Hello Devon,

I did respond to your other post, must have gotten lost in *** space

The log you posted indicates that Exchange is sending outbound mail,
apparently to a user at There is no indication from this
log that you are being relayed off of.

What are your "symptoms"? What indications do you have that you are being
relayed off of?

Please email directly, remove the online from my address.

Thanks for posting!!
