Messages awaiting directory lookup

Post by Kyle » Thu, 04 Mar 2004 01:12:54

Hi,

I have about 4,500 messages queues in the Messages awaiting directory
lookup. Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks,

Kyle

Kyle,

This issue occurs because Active Directory global catalog server is not
available to perform LDAP queries.

Check for any MSExchangeDSAccess errors in the application log of the event
viewer.

Also, you might want to run dcdiag and netdiag (Windows 2000 Support Tools)
to determine if you have any networking or AD issues. hen running DCDiag,
you'll want to use a /s:<DC name> if Exchange is a member server)

In addition to what Steve said, I've also seen this on a server that had the
Sybari Antigen services disabled.
