how could I create either a odbc or setup a file dsn and distribute via a

Hello.

This can be done with an ADO connection with a script. Applied by Group
Policy as Startup Script. How ever I think you found more luck in the
scripting newsgroup.

Not what you are looking for probably, but I was looking to do something
similar with Access and it's security workgroup settings. I ended up
using command line switches to specify the group name as a workaround.

Well most of my people use access linked back to a sql db so that could be
interesting.
