Do you mean you have PowerDVD installed or just a powerful dvd player? You
need software, such as *** link PowerDVD or WinDVD to play the DVDs. The
DVD player won't do it on it's own. If you have software download the
latest updates.

The stars so gaily glistened... (Thu, 30 Oct 2003 09:50:51 -0500 @660)
...while the fading voice of MaryQuiteContrary whispered through the darkness:

Also check the region of Your DVD disc (it to be written onthe box) and DVD
drive (Start|Run|"DevMgmt.msc" -> DVD properties)
IF they do not match - You do not have roght to play this disc.

DVD isnt on the START menu. I went to my computer or
something and found dvd. I clicked on dvd and the winsows
dvd thing came up but then I got ma message that said A
DVD DECODER or DVD HARDWARE ISNT RUNNING OR INSTALLED,
something like that.
I tried troubleshooting and they didnt have a answer for
me so I went to this site. Thought i could downloud dvd
something because we do have dvd, or we did have dvd...
Soooo what is the problem?

Is there any software I can buy to watch DVD movies on a
CD-ROM? If so, what would you recommend?

No software. But DVD-ROMs are so inexpensive anymore -- and they usually
come with software (retail box units) -- that you might spend less buying
one of them.

I tried PowerDVD, it worked perfectly on my machine without any Win
patches.

CD ROM??? He, he, he

It is a Hitachi DVD player, rather old now, it is about 5-6 years old I
think.

CD players do not read DVD disks.
