Scan Share

Hi!

I reported this problem last week and Patrick Rouse (MVP) tried to help me,
but the problem remains. I found a post in a forum where Vera Noest (MVP too)
exposed this
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are currently investigating a product called ScanShare Pro from
Netcore. It is network device with a network connection and a scsi
port (much like a network printer server device, but with a SCSI port
in stead of a parallel port). You can then access the scanner via the
network. It is fully supported in a TS / Citrix environment and seems
to work perfectly in our test environment
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If it's posible I would like to talk to her about my problem. It seems her
investigated about Scan Share Pro and make possible to work with it into a
TSE/Citrix environment.

Thanks.

Hi eulogia,

Yes, I wrote that, quite some time ago.
I don't have much more to say about the product. We never bought
it, because we eliminated the need for scanning altogether. The
ScanShare product worked flawlessly during out evaluation period,
though.

Do you have any specific problem with it?

Scan Share

Hi Vera!

My terminal server is installed "ScanShare Pro Tools for Citrix
MetaFrame/TSE". When I select [Acquire...] or [Scan...] from image
applications' menu, I get a message "You have no authority to use any
Scanshare Pro. Please contact your Terminal Server Administrator for
Authority," and no image being scanned. What does that message mean and what
should I do? I mapped the terminal client machine to the Scan Share through
the "ScanShare Pro Utility - TSE" program, but not works.

I'm using Citrix Metaframe XPe FR3 and NFuse 1.7, with the latest client.

Regards, Eulogio.

As far as I recall, you could set permissions in the ScanShare Pro
Manager.

i Vera,

that's Ok, I set the permission to the workstations, but don's works. If I
try to use an Ica Connection, it works, but if I use a Web Connection
(NFuse), it gets the error "You have no authority to use any Scan Share Pro.
Please contact your Terminal Server Administrator for authority".

'm sorry, but I really can't help you. I have only used this
product for a couple of weeks, and that's 2 years ago now, so I
don't recall any details.
I would contact the manufacturer.
